Maths

All classes use the White Rose Maths scheme to deliver teaching and learning of maths skills.

In addition to the scheme, we also use a range of different maths activities to provide children with real-life contexts as a way of showing them how maths connects to other subjects and within the world around them.   

These opportunities support children's maths fluency as well as their reasoning and problem-solving skills.

At Eldersfield Lawn, children access a wide variety of experiences which enable them to avoid any misconceptions being formed at an early stage and practise, consolidate and deepen their understanding of maths effectively. 

Additional challenge and support is provided where appropriate so that maths activities are carefully matched carefully to the needs of the children as individual learners.
