Punctuality
Please can we remind you that the school day starts promptly at 8.45am.
To assist working parents and to support families in being punctual, we offer daily before school provision which is available from 8.00am.
The main entrance door is opened from 8.35am, allowing a ten minute window to ease with parking and to enable a smoother, more gradual arrival process.
From September 2025, where a child is regularly arriving after 8.45am, their attendance will be monitored. If this begins to form a repeated pattern, then notices will be provided to individual families as a reminder of the negative impact this brings when the child has to join their class when everyone has already settled in for the start to the school day.
As one of our areas of whole school focus this year, all children will be participating in daily exercises. These will start promptly at 8.50am in the school hall to help develop children's reflexes, focus and co-ordination.
In addition, the first part of the day is also spent learning basic skills such as spelling and times tables. If your child is late then they are missing these fundamental building blocks that can hinder their future learning. Late arrivals can also disrupt the rest of the class.
Any child who arrives after the official school start at 8.45am will be marked as late and any absence is promptly followed up with a phone call from the school office for children's welfare and safety as part of their attendance records.
