Dear Parents and Children,
I hope that you are well and continue to stay safe.
You will have heard in the news, over the last few days, lots of speculation regarding when we will return to school. This is, at the moment, purely speculation and as I write this no decision has been made. When we do return to school, it will only be when the scientific evidence indicates that it is safe to do so. As soon as I hear any further details on the plans moving forward I will let you know.
On Thursday of last week, the Oak National Academy led their first online assembly. We watched it in school with those children who were in attendance and it was inspiring and reassuring. Last week’s speakers were Gavin Williamson and The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. It is well worth watching and can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgdhOstV6iI. There will be a new assembly posted every Thursday, please join us in watching this at 10.00am if you are able.
Thank you to everybody who has continued to send in photos of the many amazing activities that you have been engaged in during the lockdown. There were some fantastic entries for the ‘laying down challenge’ so please do take a look at https://www.eldersfieldlawn.worcs.sch.uk/gallery/
Had we all been in school this week, we would have been celebrating the 75th anniversary of VE day with a ‘street party’ in the playground. We would love to see any photos or pieces of work that you have completed on this theme, this could include homemade bunting, street parties (obviously observing social distancing) or pieces of artwork. If you send them through to me at head@eldersfieldlawn.worcs.sch.uk, I will add them to this week’s gallery page on the website.
Please continue to stay safe and I will update you as soon as I hear any news about our return to school.
Kindest regards,
Anthony Dixon-Gough
