Newsletter - 29th June

Dear Parents,

I hope that you are all well and keeping safe.  Over the last week, the staff have been continuing to develop plans to ensure that our provision is effective as possible when we return in September.  During that first week of term, we are anticipating all children returning to school on Wednesday 2nd September.  The school will be closed on Friday the 4th September for a staff inset day.  The two days that the children attend school that week will allow staff to assess and identify areas that will need a specific focus during the Autumn term.  The Friday inset will enable the staff to come together and fine tune the curriculum and discuss how a more fluid approach will enable us to offer provision that is tailored to each individual child’s needs.

Due to slightly updated guidance that was released over the weekend, we are delighted to now find ourselves in a position where we are able to offer a keeping in touch/transition session for small groups of children in Years 2,3,4 and 5.  Every child within these year groups will be given the opportunity to attend school on either Wednesday the 8th or the 15th July for a session with their current teacher.  Their teacher for next year will also introduce themselves and briefly discuss the year ahead.  To enable us to welcome further children back into school, we have had to submit a further in depth risk assessment to Worcestershire Children First.  When this has been approved, I will share further details with you.  This will replace the one to one sessions that were mentioned last week.

Plans and a risk assessment have also been submitted to hopefully allow us to undertake a leaver’s assembly during the last week of term.  It is likely that this will take place at 11.00am on Friday 17th July on the playground.  If, however, the weather is looking unfavorable on that day, we may have to reschedule for earlier in the week.

End of year reports will be either posted at the end of this week, so allowing for delays with the postal service, should be with you by the middle of next week

Thank you for all you continue to do for your children, we are all looking forward to seeing more of them over the final few weeks of term.

Kindest regards,

Anthony Dixon-Gough
