Narrative

EYFS Curriculum Narrative

We plan a curriculum for our EYFS children that  reflects the local environment and the wider world, developing in them an appreciation of the natural world through the seasons and the uniqueness of the school setting together with a curiosity & respect for people & places, past and present, and that differ from their own:

  • Providing an inclusive and inspiring learning environment, nurturing, supporting and challenging, for all children to fulfil their potential.

  • Developing happy & healthy lifestyles; becoming confident, collaborative learners with good communication skills and an appreciation of their own & others skills and talents.

The curriculum is cumulative and ambitious, with planned progression of experiences, knowledge, skills and understanding, ensuring a secure foundation for future learning.

Children are encouraged to express their own ideas and creativity through open ended provocations & challenges, and are given time and opportunity to apply their knowledge, skills and understanding, adults engaging in conversations and posing possibilities or questions, aimed at deepening and broadening these as appropriate to each individual child.

Our approach to differentiation & meeting SEN needs is to support or extend individuals within provision; using targeted interventions as necessary, being aware of what they need to develop in order to make progress.
